I have added a new link to "picturing science" a website edited by Sachiko Kusukawa, from Cambridge. Her most recent book "Picturing the book of Nature - Image, Text and Argument in Sixteenth-Century Human Anatomy and Medical Botany" (Chicago University Press) studies Fuchs, Vesalius and Gessner, to examine how and why these great scientists decided to include pictures in their works.
