A NEW EXHIBITION IN BAUME/NOUVELLE EXPOSITION A BAUME

Baume-les-Messieurs, following in the heritage of Josette Coras, who was the "owner-artist-in-residence" there from 1951 to 2007, is organising two exhibitions this summer and this autumn which concentrate on the art of engraving. Until September 15th everyday, and at week-ends until October 13th, you can visit the Abbey and the exhibition "Regards croisés" which display Josette Coras' works alongside other artists', and in the second week in September, there will be another exhibition devoted to the art of engravings, with the presence of the Swiss and French artists, entitled "Impressions /multiples, reliefs et creux." In the poster below, you can see Josette Coras' rendition of the geological features of the Baume Valley where she lived, and where the exhibition will take place. Baume-les-Messieurs poursuit son exploration de l'héritage de Josette Coras, "propriétaire-artiste-en-résidence" à l'Abbaye de 1951 à 2007, en organisant deux expositions cet été et cet automne qui se consacrent à l'art de la gravure. Jusqu'au 15 septembre tous les jours, puis les week-ends jusqu'au 13 octobre, on peut admirer l'exposition "Regards croisés" qui confronte des oeuvres de Josette Coras et celles d'autres artistes, et la seconde semaine de septembre, il y aura une seconde exposition, en présence des artistes suisses et français, intitulée "Impressions/multiples, reliefs et creux". Dans l'affiche ci-dessus, on peut voir une oeuvre de Josette Coras inspirée par les traits géologiques de la reculée de Baume où elle vivait, et où aura lieu l'exposition. On y voit combien l'art et la valeur scientifique peuvent coïncider.
