The Paris Natural History Museum boasts a collection of 8 million plant specimens - apparently the bigggest in the world - dating back to the seventeenth century, and even before, and sometimes collected by famous naturalists or travellers. After four years, a big renovation project is now at an end, and a couple of days ago, the new Galerie botanique opened to the public. If you go to the Museum official site, you can click on HERBIER 2.0, a webdocumentary, made up of 40 short films or photos, chronicling the progress of the project and giving you insight into some fascinating facts about the collections and its present use by botanists.
